The Enodak staff wanted to have more of a presence to our followers through social lmedia, so we decided we needed a clean slate. Victoria Louden, our social media staff, was in charge of this process. We deleted all of our photos from Instagram during this process to start from scratch. Then, students, teachers, adn community members were asked what "The Enodak" is. Surprisingly, not many students knew. This meant that since many of our followers are students, we needed to research and get some information our to our students.
We wondered if a rebrading was needed, and decided we needed to find out how far the title "The Enodak" goes back. We went into the school library and asked if we could look at the oldest yearbooks. While looking at all of the old books and trying to geuss who people were, we decided the name was too important to change. It's history!
So Victoria teamed up with our photo editor and designer, Elisabeth Klockmann, to create a logo--somthing that would help give our followers an image of who we are. the colors chosen were orange and blue because they are bold, just like journalists have to be. And, of course, the state of ND with a star over enderlin because the title came from the town and state names put together.
An Instagram post read, "The Endoak n. 1. An annual book which commemorates the past year of Enderlin Area School. The book includes photographs, captions, interviews, and quotations from present staff and students in order to preserve memories for years to come. 2. A title first given to Enderlin High School's early yearbooks circa 1920. 3. A title derived from a place or origin - Enderlin, North Dakota."
